Traversing the contribution landscape

Having contemplated the issues associated with indexation, we now turn our attention to what the current contribution landscape looks like for SMSF members.  Importantly we will consider how all the rule changes introduced since 2017 redefine the traditional superannuation lifecycle and how we adapt to hybrid funds and hybrid members.  Whether it is downsizer, CGT small business, structured settlement, foreign transfers, work test exemptions, recontributions or reserve allocations, there are now strategies for all ages and all fund sizes.  Of course it’s pretty important to understand who the rules relate to and what are the ramifications of doing the wrong thing.

This webinar will consider the interaction between a members age, their superannuation balance, their work status and the various non-standard ways a contribution can be made to a superannuation fund, as well as dealing with rogue contributions.

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of this webinar, participants will understand:
  • The impact total superannuation balance has on various contribution strategies
  • How contributions can result in non-arm’s length income applying to an SMSF
  • That foreign transfers and reserves can create major contribution headaches
  • 65 is bigger and better than before

This session will be issued with CPD hours for:

  • the SMSF Association
  • FASEA
  • Tax Practitioner’s Board (TPB); and
  • The major accounting bodies.
