Webinar – SMSF Contributions Strategies – Great opportunities await those that get them right!

1 July 2022 opened up the opportunities for many more superannuation fund members to make contributions to their fund and 1 July 2023 provided even more opportunity via the indexation of the transfer balance cap. Whilst the rules for accepting contributions are less onerous for SMSF trustees, there are now fewer protective measures against making mistakes and some of those mistakes can come at a cost

In this upcoming webinar Tim Miller from Smarter SMSF will look into the various contribution strategies available and highlight some of the consequences of getting the contributions rules wrong as well as consider some of the lesser appreciated rules about making contributions.

Some of the items that will be discussed include:

  • Work test changes create potential for more excess NCC
  • Eligibility for various contribution strategies
  • Which contributions require an election and when do they need to be made.
  • How to deal with excess contributions.
The webinar will provide a useful one stop spot for many of your contribution regulatory requirements and Tim will use a range of examples throughout the session to illustrate each of the above topics further.

Leaning Outcomes:

At the end of this webinar, participants will have an appreciation for:

  •  Understand and analyse the impacts and outcomes of the revised contribution rules
  • dentify and evaluate the pitfalls of different contribution strategies
  • Analyse how those pitfalls will impact your client’s contribution opportunities and
  • Understand and explain the regulatory and compliance issues that can arise including
    • the reduced opportunities to directly refund erroneous contributions
    • The different outcomes associated with excess contributions
    • the different notice election requirements that apply
