Following the release of legislation that deals with the ramifications of SMSFs not paying expenses on an arm’s length basis. now is a good opportunity to have a look at the type of expenses an SMSF might pay on an annual or ad hoc basis.  With all the focus on the detrimental outcome of non-arm’s length expenses (NALE), it shouldn’t be overlooked that there are also tax benefits associated with many SMSF expenses.
